 Royal Roan Max EQH

Royal Roan Max EQH, Red Roan Quarter Horse Stallion, AQHA #4457920, foaled August 4, 2003, bred and owned by Ben and/or Diane Eaton, Grapeview, Washington.

Miss Roan Royal, Red Roan Mare, foaled April 4, 1985, Bred by Milo & Teddi Marks, Meridian, Texas. Sire: Triple Royal by Royal King; Dam: Roan Bud by RBM Roan Baker.

Miss Roan Royal had seven foals in the State of Washington, and an eighth on the way which was born in Texas after she was sold back to her breeder, Mr. and Mrs. Marks. We purchased Royal Roan Max EQH from them and returned him to us as our current herd sire.Miss Roan Royal's offspring during her Washington stay are: 1996 - Mister Roan Royal (Red Roan Stallion); 1997 - Royal Roan Bug (Red Roan Gelding);1998 - Dun Filly; 1999 - Crown Royal EQH - (Red Roan Gelding); 2000 - Royal Reign EQH (Sorrel Gelding); 2001 - Royal Torch EQH (Sorrel Gelding); 2002 - Royal Sweetlix EQH (Sorrel Mare); 2003 - Royal Roan Max EQH (Red Roan Stallion). Our current herd sire.

Mr. and Mrs. Marks advise us that "Roanie" had 4 foals for them, all sired by Lenas Busy Bee, not including Royal Roan Max EQH. They said one in Colorado is winning in reining, the 3-year-old filly in Canada is in training for the NCHA Futurity, a yearling, Lenas Busy MS Royal, a 2006 Chestnut mare (sire's life-time earnings: $46,574), and the colt with her in the above picture.

Roan Wolf, by George Comfort- ("Roanie's Maternal Great Grandsire)

(Excerpts) -- ..."Roan Wolf turned into a fine calf roping horse and was roped off of both at shows and professional rodeos. He was GRAND CHAMPION in reining and CHAMPION Roping Horse at Odessa, Texas, and third in the Cutting with 33 in his class. Also, CHAMPION in Reining at Lamesa. At Vernon, Texas, in 1949, ridden by John Dalton, he tied for Senior Roping with Don McLaughlin's Pop. Roan Wolf was roped on professionally by Bill Linderman, John Dalton and Monroe Tumlinson, winning "considerable money" for them.

Horseman/journalist, Ralph Dye, was a great admirer of Roan Wolf and writes about one time he rode the horse and says in his book "Horse Tradin' and Other Tales" that Roan Wolf was "light as a feather on the reins and smooth as one would want."

...He was the sire of many good usin' horses, a few of which will be listed here: RBM Duster Wolf-AQHA Champion, ROM Arena; RBM Roan Harmon-ROM Arena. Ralph Dye's horse.
