We had made the trip in Mr. Burslem's brand new pickup truck and with his brand new 4-horse trailer because we had agreed to pick up Cricket Bar Trip, daughter of Triple Royal and her foal by him, later to be named Mount Royal King, and even later to become our herd sire after Triple Royal died on the operating table at University of Oregon where they were trying to repair a broken leg.

She had been purchased by Mr. Burslem and foaled out at the veternarian, Dr. Conway's, but her Triple Royal foal collicked and died, whereupon she had been bred back to Triple Royal again. She and another mare Mr. Burslem had purchased had been taken to Tommy Manion's to be bred--the Royal King mare to Highbrow Hickory and the other mare to Smart Little Lena.  So, we stopped at Tommy Manion's on our way back home to pick up Cricket Bar Trip, and her foal, soon to be our next herd sire, Mount Royal King.

On the 3rd trip to Texas, we had taken two mares, Duke's Triple Holly, already bred to her own sire, Triple Royal, to stay at Dr. Conway's, and to be bred to Wilcox' stallion, Royale Royale, and, Royal Cricket Jane, to be bred to another Wilcox' Royal King stud; however, she didn't settle. At the time, we also agreed Cohorn should breed the mares, Royal Leda, to Wilcox' Royal Tony Jazz stud, and her daughter, Royal Aledo Gal (Sire: Royale Royale) to his Cutter Bill stallion.

The next year, instead of us returning to Texas, our horseshoer, Vern Miles, made the trip and brought back the results of these breedings, i.e., weanlings out of Wilcox studs, (a stud colt which we sold); Royal Toni EQH (filly) and Royale Holly EQH (filly). Ben had started using the EQH behind their names because it was simpler than finding out the name was a duplicate and having to deal with more AQHA paperwork.

Dillon Shook went on to found the "Foundation Quarter Horse Registry".  Bea Shook, Dillon's wife, died a few years ago. She had the sweetest voice I think I've ever heard, and she sure could yodel. He has since remarried.

Meeting purpose was to pool Royal King genes amongst Royal King Breeders.

Meeting minutes and a roster were taken of the Royal King Breeders meeting, but the goals of the meeting were not realized after Eatons returned to Washington State.
